Tommies Rewarded with All-Conference Honours

Marc Blinn, a third-year setter for the St. Thomas Tommies men's volleyball team, took home top honours at the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association playoff banquet as the conference's player of the year.

The Nasonworth, NB, native was also named a first team all-conference player for his dominant performance on the court.

"Marc has been a great leader for us both on and off the court," Tommies head coach Francis Duguay said. "His work ethic is unmatched and he has a passion for the game—he's the total package."

Blinn was second in the ACAA in assists per set this season, averaging 6.98. A well-rounded player, he tallied the third-most service aces and digs for the Tommies—17 and 75 respectively—while also chipping in with 20 kills and nine blocks.

Joining him in the all-star ranks are brother Stephane Blinn and teammate Nicolas Levesque.

Stephane, a third-year outside hitter from Nasonworth, NB, was second in the ACAA in kills per set with 2.59, sitting only behind Levesque, who led the conference with 3.19. Stephane boasts the second-highest hitting percentage in the league, .199, and was third in the ACAA in points with 137 on the season.

He also managed 10 assists, 10 service aces, 75 digs, and 10 blocks in the Tommies' 15 matches.

"Steph is constantly looking to improve and has really stepped up big for us this year," Duguay said. "Getting into a starting position this year really elevated his game."

On top of leading the conference in kills per set, Levesque was the ACAA's leading point scorer, generating 189 points on the season. The Fredericton, NB, native was third in the conference in service aces per set and also pulled his weight defensively, connecting for 85 digs—the second highest total on the Tommies' roster.

"Nick has been a great source of energy for us this year," Duguay said. "He has a motor that never stops running and he can really put the ball down."
