Carissa McTague, a fifth-year post from Rothesay, NB, is the STU Tommies Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for February.

The women's basketball captain had a remarkable final month of the regular season. In seven games, McTague connected for 94 points and hauled in 73 rebounds for a double-double average of 13 points and 10 boards.

Tommies head coach Fred Connors said McTague has upped her game in the second half of the season.

"Carissa has really stepped her game up since Christmas. She's taken a leadership role on and off the court the last month, and we're very proud of her efforts in her final season."

McTague is second in scoring for the Tommies with an average of 11 points per game and is second in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association in rebounds, collecting nine per contest.
