February’s Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month is Garret Dickson of the men’s volleyball team.
The 2nd year middle from Miramichi, NB was an instrumental cog in getting the Tommies to the ACAA finals.
Dickson was named to his first ACAA All-Star team this season, after finishing in the top ten in kills (second amongst middles) and leading the league in kill percentage by a whopping margin.
Over seven matches in the month of February Dickson averaged 10.1 kills, 3.7 blocks, on .535% kill percentage. He led the team in kills in three of those matches.
“Garret was solid for us all year, but like any good player, he found a way to step it up at the end of the season,” said head coach, Henri Mallet. “A lot of our offence was focused on our middle players and the pipe ball, and Garret did not disappoint. He was able to increase is points per set from 2.2 in January to 3.2 in February, while also improving his blocks per set and finding his rhythm from the service line.”
