Tommies Fall 85-75 to Mounties in Season Opener

The St. Thomas Tommies dropped a 85-75 decision to the Mount Allison Mounties in ACAA men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Sackville. 

After trailing by 13 at half, the Tommies chipped away at the Mounties lead and were within nine points heading into the final frame. The Tommies made a push in the fourth--they cut the Mounties lead to as little as four points--but weren't able to overcome the deficit. 

Jeremy Speller led the Tommies with a double-double, connecting for 18 points and hauling in 12 rebounds. Mitch Claybourn added 17 points, while Sam Drummond chipped in with 11. 

The Mounties were paced by Thomas LeGallais, who netted 19 points. Alex Chisholm and Bradley Fuller added 16 and 14 points, respectively.
