The St. Thomas Tommies were bested 79-56 by the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics in ACAA men's basketball action Saturday in Halifax.
The Tommies got off to a slow start and were down 26-13 after the first quarter en route to a 45-24 deficit at the half.
The Green and Gold came out firing in the second half--they shot 50 per cent from beyond the arc and 53 per cent from the floor in the third quarter to cut the Mystics' lead to 64-47 heading into the final frame.
The Mystics held off the Tommies run in the fourth and outscored them 15-9 to secure the win.
Travis Valanne had 13 points for the Tommies, while Dylan Gallant added 12 points and five rebounds.
The Mystics were led by Ashton Slawter, who had a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds.
