Tommies Bested 71-62 by Rams

The St. Thomas University Tommies fell to the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Rams 71-62 in ACAA men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

The game was back and forth in the first quarter, which ended with the two teams tied at 16. The Rams broke through in the second quarter, managing to a 35-32 lead after 20 minutes.

The third quarter was much of the same but this time in favour of the Tommies, who outscored the Rams 14-10 in the frame to take a 46-45 lead.

The final 10 minutes were the most action packed with the teams combining for a total of 42 points, but it was the Rams who came out on top.

The Tommies offense was sparked by Mitch Claybourn, who was three for five from the three-point line and tallied 15 points in the contest.

The Rams were led by Jonathan Asedri and Robin Grouse with 22 and 24 points, respectively.

The Tommies are back in action tomorrow when they visit the Crandall University Chargers in Moncton Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm.
