Tommies Men's Basketball lands Ottawa's Almin Dervisevic

Tommies Men's Basketball announce another Ottawa native will join the 2018-19 squad

Almin Dervisevic, from the Nation's Capital stands at 6ft3 and will play the combo guard position. In 2016-17, he red-shirted for the UPEI Panthers of the AUS under coach Tim Kendrick and has opted to join the Tommies this season. 

He's looking forward to joining another recruit Michael Otoo. "[We played] for a couple years of high school ball as well as our club team Ottawa Next Level and now we will be suiting up together for the first time since 2014," Almin mentions. "We have great chemistry and a complex understanding of the game of basketball and we are ready to show that."

Coach Scott MacLeod is looking forward to that chemistry on the court and adds: "Almin's experience in the AUS will be a great asset to the Green & Gold".

He started his passion for basketball as a kid but didn't start playing competitively until high school when he joined Ottawa Next Level. "Basketball is more than a game its a way of life," states Dervisevic.
