Lavoie's Hot Streak Continues in Tommies' Victory

Fredericton, NB - Geoffrey Lavoie (Ottawa, ON) erupted for 26 points and seven rebounds as the St. Thomas University Tommies ran out winners in a nail-biting affair against the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics. The Tommies won 99-92.

Lavoie was a consistent scorer throughout the match and kept the Tommies score climbing. He also got himself four assists and two steals on his way to the leading the team to victory. Lavoie's shooting splits were as efficient as it get with him making 10 of his 17 shots.

The Tommies were without their star defender, Gayo Isaya (Fredericton, NB), but showed that the team is more than capable even when he is not in the game. STU restricted the Mystics in three of the four quarters and held their main scorers to below average shooting.

Vincent Lyttleton (Markham, ON) played a vital role for the Tommies also. He finished the match with 18 points and scored 11 of those in the fourth quarter.

There was also important efforts from Owen Amos (Miramichi, NB) who added 10 points, and Tyrese Paul (Fredericton, NB) who finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

The Tommies next match will be on Sunday as they host University of King's College Blue Devils. The Mystics will make the trip to Saint John where they will play the University of New Brunswick Sait John Seawolves.
