Tommies Fall to Ironmen in Season Opener

The St. Thomas University Tommies dropped a 44-7 decision to the UNB Ironmen in their 2016 season opener Wednesday night.

It was back and forth in the beginning, with the Ironmen opening the scoring for an early 12-0 lead. The Tommies fought back off a try and conversion from Austin Comeau, which brought the Green and Gold within five points.

The Ironmen found the try zone twice more and held a comfortable 24-7 lead at half.

The Tommies were good defensively, but a few missed tackles let the Ironmen run away with the game in the second half.
