Tommies Drop Tough 36-19 Decision to Panthers

The St. Thomas Tommies dropped a tough 36-19 decision to the UPEI Panthers in Maritime University 'A' men's rugby action Sunday afternoon.

The Tommies fell behind 24-0 in the first 15 minutes of play, but managed to claw their way back into the match with two tries from Austin Comeau, one from Zach Lakes, and two conversions from Mike Irvine

Down 24-19, the Tommies hung around until the Panthers capitalized on a yellow card that left STU a man short for 10 minutes.

With the loss, the Tommies remain one point ahead of the Panthers in the league standings.

The Tommies are back in action October 29 when they take on the UNB Ironmen at Harvey High School.
