Tommies add strength up the middle with Idean Rahimkhani

The STU Tommies Men's Soccer team has added more versatality for their upcoming quest to repeat as ACAA champions, adding another piece to the puzzle with Idean Rahimkhani of Rexdale, ON.

Rahimkhani stands at 6'1, weighing 185 pounds. Head coach John-Ryan Morrison said Rahimkhani has the ability to play multiple postions.

"Idean will add real strength in the middle of the park and provide a threat off set pieces," Morrison said. He expects there to be a high level of competition for playing time amongst his players, saying Rahimkhani will play a role in those tough decisions.

"I have been in discussion with Idean for quite some time now, so I am happy to finally get the signing across the finish line."

Rahimkhani, a prudct of DeRo TFC, described his decsion to join the Tommies a "confident" one, saying he was intrigued by the standards and ethics set by Morrison. He also said STU fits his academic goals, as well as being able to continue pursuing soccer in a "winning culture."

"The people I have met are all so kind and welcoming and I cannot wait to be a part of that culture," Rahimkhani said. "After speaking with coach John-Ryan, the team and learning about the school, I am very confident in my decision." 

Rahimkhani is the tenth recruitment of the Men's Soccer offseason, joining Samuel Choinière, Nikolas Landry, Elias Stiphout, Avery Webster, Alec Wells, Nathan Bellemare, Jason Scott, Luca Foianesi and Matthew Oprea.
