On Sunday the 28th of March, the STU Men’s Volleyball team hosted the UNBSJ Seawolves in an ACAA exhibition volleyball match at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym. The Tommies, defending ACAA Champions, defeated the Seawolves in straight sets, 25-23,27-25 and 25-17. The teams agreed to play five sets with each team winning one of the last two.
Head Coach Henri Mallet was pleased to see his team back in action, ““It was definitely great to be back in our gym after such a long year of practicing. We feel fortunate to be able to finish the season with match play. As expected after a year of not playing meaningful matches, our play wasn’t perfect with our passing breaking down for much of the match. I think the guys responded well to the adversity and competed hard to get the 3-0 win.
"Offensively, we looked pretty good and we could see technical improvements on specific details," adds Coach Mallet. "I think we showed that if we can control our first contact, we’ll be tough to beat. We are looking forward to playing this mature UNBSJ team again on Thursday.”
