Ajax, Ontario’s Nathan Hara commits to joining STU men’s volleyball Tommies

The St. Thomas University men’s volleyball team is excited to announce its third recruit for the 2022-2023 season, welcoming outside hitter Nathan Hara to the program.

A product of the Durham Attack volleyball club, Hara is a 6’3 outside hitter who has flexibility at both the left and right-side positions.

This skill set helped Hara win Athlete of the Year at Ajax High School as well as helping his club team to a 10th place finish at Volleyball Canada club nationals with Markham Unity.

Head Coach Henri Mallet is excited to land a player who has already shown a clear indication of growth and potential.

“Nathan comes from a very reputable volleyball club in Ontario and has shown that he has the ability to compete at the next level.  He will fit right in with the rest of our outside hitters and will have the chance to learn from some crafty players like Gustavo Lobato and Adam McDougall which will help elevate his game,” said Mallet.

Nara is excited to get on campus and get to work on his craft.

“I am committed to working hard to quickly adjust to the faster-paced game and make a positive contribution to the team. I feel confident that St Thomas University is the place for me to grow and develop as a student and athlete,” said Hara.

Hara becomes the third player of the class of 2022-2023 to commit to the Tommies joining Raphael Fiset (Calgary, AB) and Brenton Romanchuck (Dewberry, AB).
