Multiple Tommies Named ACAA All-Stars

Multiple St. Thomas Tommies have been named to the ACAA Men's Volleyball All-Star team following the regular season finale on Feb. 12. Outside hitter and Tommies' co-captain Adam McDougall (Calgary, AB) and rookie setter Raph Fiset (Calgary, AB) have earned themselves All-Star titles. This will be both players first time making the team.

It had been a long time coming for McDougall as he set career highs in nearly every stat category - finishing the season with 197.5 points, 23 service aces, 103 digs, 160 kills, 2.67 kills per set and 3.3 points per set. The veteran had multiple big games during the season, having two 15 kill games, including a 22 point game, setting his ACAA single game career highs.

Compared to other stars around the ACAA, McDougall's 2.67 kills per set places him fourth in the ACAA. His 160 kills places him in the top three, only trailing Cameron Calhoun of the Holland College Hurricanes with 212 and Alec Cottreau of the Université Sainte Anne Dragons with 203. McDougall's hitting percentage of 0.203 also placed him third.

For Fiset, the rookie setter was able to adjust to the league quickly. Fiset kicked off his ACAA career with a 41 assist performance in a 3-2 win over the Hurricanes. He would hit the 40 assist mark again later in the season with 48 assists in another five set win over Holland. Fiset finished the season with 7.2 assists per set, fourth most in the ACAA and 0.57 service aces per set, third most in the league and a total of 432 assists, second most.
