Head Coach Fred Connors is bolstering the back court with the addition of St John's point guard Kathleen Quinlan for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

Finishing up her studies at Holy Heart High School, she'll spend the summer training with the Newfoundland and Labrador Canada Games team as an alternate.

A captain of her high school squad this season, she's excited to be joining the Tommies and playing in the ACAA.

"The level of intensity and grit that STU plays with excites me. I feel that my game will fit in really well with the teams way of playing and I am excited to continue on my development with such a hard-working team." said Quinlan.

That work ethic helped her be named the Team's MVP at the 4A Basketball championship.

"Kathleen has come highly recommended because of her work ethic and team first attitude. She is gritty, aggressive player with an ability to get to the rim." adds Coach Connors.

The 5'5" Point Guard learned much of her skills through the CE23 Academy run by Carl English.

"She is not scared to find contact on either end of the floor. Kathleen can play multiple positions because of her skill set," lauds the bench boss.  "We are very excited to bring in a player who is so excited to be a Tommie."

In choosing St. Thomas, Kathleen felt "I will really benefit from the small tight community it provides. The opportunity for connections between professors and other students that accompany small class sizes will help me reach a higher level of academic success."

Kathleen joins fellow recruits Grace Christie, Charlee Connors and Katie Vidito who will land on campus in September 2022 for the next ACAA season.
