Emily Oleksuk, a second-year forward from Thunder Bay, ON, is the STU Tommies Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for October.

In six games—where the Tommies went 5-0-1—Oleksuk netted five goals and dished out three assists. Her eight points make her the Tommies' leading scorer and put her in third place in the Atlantic University Sport scoring race.

"Emily has definitely come into her own this year," Tommies head coach Peter Murphy said.

"Last year she was more of a setup player, but this year she's gotten back to playing the way she did when I scouted her. She was a threat on the ice as much as anyone else.  We're seeing that this year and I'm very happy for her as I think she is getting some long overdue recognition."

The Tommies are currently tied for first in the AUS standings and are fourth in the U Sports national rankings.
