The St. Thomas University Tommies blanked the U de M Aigles Bleues 4-0 in AUS women's hockey action Wednesday night in Moncton.

The Tommies opened the scoring late in the first with a goal from Lauren Henman, who slipped the puck past UdeM netminder Gabrielle Forget.

In the second frame, Kelty Apperson doubled the Tommies' lead after finishing a feed from Paige Jackson.

The final frame started with the Tommies in the penalty box, but the Aigles Bleues couldn't capitalize on the power play.

The Tommies continued to generate scoring opportunities and were rewarded when Eliza Snider wired a shot to the back of the net with 6:52 to go for a 3-0 STU advantage.

The Tommies were hit with a wave of penalties late in the game. The Aigles Bleues were awarded a 5-on-3 and pulled Forget in favour of the extra attacker, but Taylor Cook stood tall for the Tommies between the pipes.

With the U de M net empty, Jessie McCann converted on a 2-on-1 off a great feed from Apperson to secure the 4-0 win.

Shots on goal in the match favoured the Tommies, 39-32.

The Tommies, who are now 11-1-1 on the season, wrap up the first half of the season on Sunday, November 27, when they host the Mount Allison Mounties. Game time is 2:00 pm.
