Tommies get commitment from RNS forward Jordan Chaulk

Jordan Chaulk
Hometown: Bonavista, NL
Position: Forward
Previous Team: Rothesay Netherwood Riverhawks

The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team has announced the program is adding Bonavista's Jordan Chaulk to the recruiting class incoming this Fall for the 2022-2023 Atlantic University Sport season.

Head Coach Peter Murphy has connected again with Tommies alumna Kayla Blackmore who has coached the Rothesay Netherwood Prep School program that has also seen the development of Jordan Miller and Jessica McCann.

Chaulk will be the latest Riverhawk to join the AUS Women's Hockey conference to stay close to home and play in the competitive league.

"I thought making my decision about where I wanted to attend university would be very difficult, but after visiting St. Thomas, the decision became quite obvious. St. Thomas felt like a home away from home, where there was a great balance of academics and athletics, and great people." lauds Jordan of the Liberal Arts University at the heart of New Brunswick.

Coach Peter Murphy is looking at adding new talent to his forward core with his 4th forward announcement.

“In Jordan I see a player who can grow her game substantially while with us.  She is a high energy player who is defensively responsible.  She pressures the puck well and has an offensive touch.  She has great size and uses it well which will be a welcome addition to our group of forwards.

The bench boss is always looking for the complete student-athlete so it translates to long term success for both the incoming player and the program.

"Above all else, Jordan is a team player that shows great character and a commitment to both her academic and athletic university life.”

Chaulk joins the Tommies as the 6th recruit for Coach Murphy including Trinity Webber, Peyton van Volsen, Payton Jacobs, Tahlia Mallaley, and Amy Dvernichuk
