Club Team: Saint John Trojans
Provincial Team: NB Spruce 7's and 15's

The Tommies Women's Rugby continues to add team NB graduates with recently announced Kelsey Mannett joining the Green & Gold as the 6th recruit for new Head Coach Becca Baker.

The Saint John native who won an Atlantic Championship with Team New Brunswick will look to bring her playing resume from various programs to the Tommies this Fall.  She is currently finishing her Grade 12 year with Simonds High School and has competed with Team NB Spruce for both the 15's and 7's squads.  Mannett also bodes additional knowledge from the Saint John Trojans that will help her University career.

Kelsey thought St. Thomas was the logical landing place for her post-secondary studies.  “I chose STU because I want to become a teacher, therefore going to university and continuing to play rugby as well”.  She'll study Sociology with the intention of enrolling in the prestigious Education Program.

Coach Becca Baker adds another piece to the puzzle and looks to the young core to lead a resurgence in the ACAA. “Kelsey is a vocal player and has vast positional awareness. She is a strong tackler and confident in ball-in-contact and off set pieces."

Being close to home was important to Kelsey and for the STU Coaching staff she has vast experience playing rugby, displays tactical awareness and understanding. "Her adaptability and passion for sport will make her a great addition to our rugby program,” adds Baker

Mannett is the latest addition along with Alexis Falconer, Vada Benoit, Atheana Harris, Becca Macmullin and Valerie Boorne to the Class of 2022 for Head Coach Becca Baker and the Tommies Women's Rugby team.
