SEASON RECAP: 2017-2018 a Banner Year for Tommies Women's Soccer

It was a banner year for the St. Thomas University Tommies women's soccer team.

The Tommies opened the 2017 regular season with three wins and one tie before dropping their next two matches. In November, the STU squad had two wins, two draws, and two losses to finish third in the ACAA with a record of 5-4-3.

The Green and Gold faced the second-place Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics in the conference semifinal and were able to best the Halifax squad 2-1 off goals from Nikita McCartney and Moira Kinney.

The Tommies took advantage of their first championship final appearance in over a decade, besting the University of King's College Blue Devils 1-0 to take home the ACAA title for the first time in 17 years.

Louisa Hughes and McCartney were named to the ACAA's first all-conference team, while Kaleigh Roberts and Victoria Muise earned a spot on the second team all-conference.

At the CCAA National Championships, the Tommies dropped their first two matches but capped off the tournament with a 1-0 win over the host Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Rams.
