The track and field team at St. Thomas University had another successful showing at the 2016 McGill team challenge, breaking a number of university records and qualifying all throwers for the Atlantic University Sport Championships. 

Female throwers Shannon Blackmore, Shannon Morris, Stephanie Gates, and Anisha Romany all maintained their AUS top-10 status in the weight throw, with Morris and Blackmore throwing 10.45 and 10.44 meters, while Gates and Romany threw 9.15 meters and 8.82 meters, respectively. 

Sarah Hickman completed the run in 8.69, Hannah Clarke crossed the line at 8.89, Sydney Walls came in at 9.18, and Kelly Brennan finished in 10.05. 

In the 300 meters, Hickman was the top STU finisher with a time of 46.71. Clarke finished in 49.63, Brennan shaved just under three seconds off her previous record, crossing the line in 52.81, while Maya Gershun-Half finished in 53.21 and Emily Reagon came in at 54.76.

In the relays, the women's 'A' team featuring Hickman, Clarke, Walls, and Hachey, broke the STU 4*200 record, clocking in at 2:00.42. The 'B' team of Gershun-Half, Gouchie, Brennan, and Reagon finished in 2:12.28.

The Tommies scored a total of 11 points, and were very close to outscoring the Université de Moncton and St. Mary's, who both scored 12 points.
