The Tommie's Track and Field team concluded another successful indoor season this winter, which saw 13 school records broken and overall improvements in individual performances.
First-year runner Chelsey Hall set the new STU standard for the 300 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter with times of 45.9, 1:06.66, and 2:30.42, respectively. Emily Authier followed suit, setting new benchmarks in the 60 meter hurdles and the high jump.
The women's 4*200 relay team also ran their way into the university record books with a 1:58.26 finish at the NB Indoor Championships.
Competing for the first time at the Halifax Open meet, the Tommie's sought to make a statement in new territory. Strong performances from rookie and returning athletes propelled the team to new heights in competition.
The team aims to continue their success next winter.
