Tommies Inch Closer to AUS Championships

This past weekend saw a number of St. Thomas University track runners compete against Atlantic University Sport competition in the Jump Start Moncton Open.

In the women's 60m Grace Baker (Liscomb, NS) paced the Tommies, finishing 6th with a personal best time of 8.57 in the finals. Jazna Ward (Miramichi, NB) and Kassidy Richard (Vassalboro, ME) also ran the event with times of 9.42 and 9.73, respectively.

Alex Dunn (Fredericton, NB) led the men's side in the 60m with a time of 7.90, with Tristan Sutherland (Miramichi, NB) and Patrice Cammarano (Fredericton, NB) following.

Baker and Sarah Hickman (Middle Sackville, NS) ran the 200m for the Tommies and finished with times of 28.70 and 29.44.

Dunn finished second in the men's 200m with a time of 25.51.

Hannah Clarke (Amherst, NS), Cammarano and Sutherland all ran the 300m and all placed in the top 10: Clarke with a time of 47.36, Sutherland with a time of 42.72 and Cammarano with a 43.81.

Hilary McAllen (St. Stephen, NB) was the only Tommie to run the 400m and 600m with times of 1:15.13 and 1:58.88.

Lars Schwarz (Fredericton, NB) was the lone runner in the 1500m, placing 10th with a time of 4:27.86.

Schwarz was 5 seconds off the St. Thomas school record in the 3000m with a time of 9:33.52, a record set by teammate Ryan Terry (Riverview, NB) back in 2017. Terry finished with a time of 10:16.28 in Moncton.
