The St. Thomas University Tommies defeated the University of King's College Blue Devils 3-0 in ACAA women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

The set scores were 25-15, 25-19, and 25-18.

The Tommies got off to a quick start, opening the first set with a 7-0 lead. The Blue Devils came back within five points, only to be shot down by the soaring Tommies who took the first set 25-15.

The Tommies didn't let up when they took a sizeable lead in the second set as a result of a defensive break down by the Blue Devils.

Once again UKC battled back but weren't able to close the gap, dropping the second set 25-19.

The play was controlled on the sides of the court for the majority of the match, which played into the Tommies' strength and allowed them to close out the game with a 25-18 set win.

Leading the way for the Tommies was Megan Mills, who contributed eight kills.

Kirsten Conrad led the Blue Devils with her seven kills.
