ACAA women’s volleyball

The UNBSJ Seawolves hosted the STU Tommies in women's volleyball action Friday in Saint John. It was the first match for both teams in over two months due to exams and Omicron.

The Tommies were never threatened even though the match was close throughout and they prevailed in straight sets - 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.

Maddie McGregor led the Tommies balanced attack with 9 kills. Caitlin Jones recorded 16 assists and Abby Lanteigne added 9 digs. Kaitlyn Sears had 9 kills for the Seawolves. Emma Lynch had 20 assists and Talia Hill contributed 10 digs.

The Tommies improved their record to 7-2 to retain a hold on 3rd place while the Seawolves fell to 3-7 and stay in 6th place.

The Tommies play again February 12 when they host Mount Allison Mounties at 2:00pm. The Seawolves next see action when they travel to PEI Saturday, February 19 for a matchup with the Holland Hurricanes at 3:30pm.
