Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for October: Kyle Yearwood, Men's Soccer

Kyle Yearwood, a 3rd year defensive midfielder from Bridgetown, Barbados, is the STU Tommies Coastal Graphics Athlete of the Month for October.

Yearwood had a stellar season for the men’s soccer team, leading them to a birth in CCAA Nationals. For his play this year, he was named 1st Team All-Conference in the ACAA and is one of two players from the ACAA to be named CCAA All-Canadians.

The veteran played a pivotal role for the Tommies down the stretch of the regular season, limiting opposition attacks, while contributing offensively as well. He was vital in the Tommies 1-0 victory over UKC which guaranteed the team a spot in the CCAA championships for the first time since 2000-01.

“He is a tough tackler, great communicator and has contributed offensively as well this year coming 2nd in team scoring,” said head coach John-Ryan Morrison, who was named ACAA Coach of the Year.

The Tommies will be one of two teams representing the ACAA at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer National Championships which run November 7-10 in Charlottetown, PE.
