STU Tommies Athletes Honoured as 2023-24 CCAA National Scholars
Fredericton, NB – St. Thomas University (STU) is proud to recognize and celebrate the academic achievements of its student-athletes who have been named National Scholars by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) for the 2023-2024 academic year. These dedicated Tommies have shown excellence not only on the field of play but also in the classroom, earning one of the most prestigious academic honors in collegiate sports.
The National Scholar Award is presented to student-athletes who have achieved an academic standing of 80% or higher while maintaining their commitments to varsity athletics. This year’s recipients from STU embody the values of hard work, determination, and discipline, balancing the rigorous demands of both their academic and athletic pursuits.
There were 55 Tommies named as National Scholars in 2023-2024, marking a record number by a significant margin.
Congratulations to the honorees:
"We are thrilled to see so many of our student-athletes succeed academically as well as athletically, and I want to share my heartfelt congratulations to the recipients," says Meaghan Donahue Wies, St. Thomas' Director of Athletics and Recreation.
