Cole Crouse Commits to Tommies' Core

The St. Thomas Tommies have added their first recruit of the 2023 class. Cole Crouse, a point guard from Woodstock, has joined head coach John Hickey and the Tommies' program.

Crouse, who also played for Basketball New Brunswick's Under-17 team, chose STU because it's close to home as well because of their small class sizes, giving him a chance to get to know his professors and classmates. Crouse was also familiar with the Tommies' coaching staff and couldn't pass on an opportunity to play for coach Hickey. He also said he wanted to be apart of a winning environment, saying the Tommies seemed extra motivated for an ACAA title.

"I wanted to play for the Tommies because of the coaching - it's incredible with John Hickey, Kyle Woodworth and Kenny Jean-Louise," Crouse said. "Also, the boys seem to have lots of drive and they all want to win, which is also what I want."

Crouse, a 6'0 guard and strong athlete, has been playing basketball for 12 years and has dabbled across other fields as well, such as soccer, baseball, badminton, volleyball and track & field. He describes his game on the court as being a strong ball handler who likes to find the open man and create scoring chances for his teammates.

"I am very aggressive and determined player and always want to improve my game and I always want to win."
