Tommies Win 85-67 Over Mount Allison University Mounties

Fredericton, NB – The St. Thomas University Tommies defeated the Mount Allison University Mounties 85-67 on Saturday evening at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

"They are a good team and a tough team. They play physical and they work hard, and we needed to do a good job to match that energy, so overall it was a good game," STU coach John Hickey said after the match.

The game was a competitive showdown, and both teams put out great defensive displays throughout the four quarters. Vincent Lyttleton (Markham, ON) and former Mountie, Noah McCarthy (Grand Falls, NB), led the Tommies. Lyttleton finished with 17 points, two rebounds, one assist, and six steals. McCarthy finished with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Hickey spoke about Lyttleton's performance after the match.

He said, "We talked about it on the bench, and Vince was very active today. He did a really good job rebounding, and he was active on our switches, so it was a great game from him today."

The Tommies next match will be on November 24th, when they travel to play the University of New Brunswick Saint John.
