The STU Men’s Soccer Team is happy to announce its 9th addition to the 2021 squad as Head Coach John-Ryan Morrison continues to completely rebuild his roster before the 2021 season with FC Berlin U21 star Josh Kuehl joining the Green & Gold.

Kuehl is heading to St Thomas because of the opportunities the school has to offer. "I'm looking forward to being able to learn in a small class environment and having accessible help for whenever in need.  It is also a great opportunity for me to pursue a post secondary education, while being fortunate enough to continue to play the sport I love."

Continuing to recruit athletes from FC Berlin in Waterloo, On, Coach Morrison has been working hard on building a pipeline. “I have been after Josh for over a year now so I am very excited to finally been able to secure his future with the Tommies."

Through the recruiting process, Kuehl knew St. Thomas was the right fit.  "All of the people that have reached out to me have seemed like truly humble people and the school seems like a great environment."

With a season away from competition for the Tommies, Coach Morrison will look for an immediate impact at training camp.  Morrison said of Josh "He’s a very technical and quick player for the FC Berlin U21’s, which is one of the top U21 programs in Ontario.  I feel his ability to play down both flanks as a wing back or winger will be very beneficial for us and provide us with some good tactical flexibility”

Josh also adds that he can bring to the Tommies "a left footed option to contribute to the team. I will also bring a positive attitude to the team and will be sure to contribute to the positive environment already existing at STU."

For coach Morrison, he's established a great relationship with Berlin FC and that "with Josh now joining clubmates Brett, Moman, Josh and Evan at St Thomas, I hope this is only the beginning of a long standing partnership between the two programs.”

Josh is the latest addition to the recruiting class of Fall 2021 which includes Isiaiah Rowinski, Takin Marvasti, Matteo Neves, Will Benoit, Zachary Zoellner-Krauss, Ben Davidge, Nicholas Reis and Moman Adbul
