Men's Soccer adds Victoria's Takin Marvasti to Bolster Backline

The STU Men’s Soccer Team is happy to announce its 7th addition to the 2021 squad as Head Coach John-Ryan Morrison continues to revamp his roster before the 2021 season with Takin Marvasti committing to the Green & Gold.

The Westcastle United product from Victoria, BC is moving coast to coast to experience the Maritime hospitality and pursue his playing career.

"I chose St. Thomas University because my goal is to play the sport I love while continuing my post-secondary studies. Coach Morrison has been great in helping me achieve this goal."

Academics and campus life was important to his pathway.  "STU’s innovative curriculum, spirited school culture, and diverse student population provide an environment that will help me reach my full potential," the Fullback mentions.

Coach John-Ryan Morrison boasts his newest recruit as the pinnacle of student-athlete.  "Takin checked every box I am looking for when I am assessing student athletes to bring into our soccer program."

"He has an outstanding GPA, his communication has been very professional since day 1, he loves soccer, he can play multiple positions, he’s experience winning, he’s been the captain of his team," Morrison mentions of the back-to-back BC Club Provincial Champion in 2016 and 2017.

"I think he is going to be a great fit into our team culture of winning on the field and in the classroom." which will bode well for Coach Morrison's Tommies next season.

 

Takin is looking forward to his first year in the ACAA bringing his skill set: "My creativity, technical ability, ambition to succeed, and appreciation for teamwork will help push my teammates to a higher level on the pitch."

Marvasti joins Matteo Neves, Will Benoit, Zachary Zoellner-Krauss, Ben Davidge, Nicholas Reis and Moman Adbul who have committed to the Tommies Men's Soccer program for the 2021-2022 season
