Recruit Alert
Tommies Coach John-Ryan Morrison continues to load up with Victoria BC's Aidan Lavery announcing his commitment to the program.
The Full Back who competed for Vancouver Island Wave and Pacific FC Academy will make the cross-country trip for Training camp near the end of August in Fredericton and is already looking forward to attending St. Thomas University.
"I believe it is the best place for me to express myself as the footballer and person I am," said Aidan. STU's dedication to academics and athletics showcases "high ambitions, which excites me and I believe I will fit in well with the culture of the program."
The Tommies are looking to bounce back after a tough loss in penalty kicks in last year's final after another undefeated regular season.
"I bring a desire to win Championships with the Green & Gold and a willingness to put in the work to do so," added the Claremont Secondary School graduate. "I have a chip on my shoulder and I am eager to prove what I can do on the field."
Heading to the Tommies, a perrenial contender in ACAA Men's Soccer, Coach John-Ryan Morrison is excited at the prospect of the West Coast talent.
"He's coming in with a point to prove and that drive will help push players in training, competition for spots is critical to a program like ours," said John-Ryan. "We have big expectations to continue our history of winning games over the last 4 seasons."
Coach Morrison continues to push the program to be amongst the best in the CCAA and recruit athletes from across the nation helps build that prestige.
"Aidan comes to us from one of the best club teams in the country, Vancouver Island Wave and the Pacific FC Academy," lauds Morrison. "He is a left sided player that likes to build from the back, good at breaking lines and wants to be the player that helps start the attacking phase.
The Tommies Men's Soccer team will look to make some noise and return to the top of the ACAA this season with a great off-season.
Lavery is the latest addition to the Men's Soccer team for the 2023-2024 season after the announcements of Rhys Cook McCormick, Shreyansh Choudhary, Mees van Nouhuys, Brady Chapman, Kiran Hollman Prichard, Laurent Lambert, Oliver Altemeyer, and Bright Olaonis.
The 2023 ACAA Soccer schedule is available here, with Season Passes on sale in August and training camp opening in late August for the STU Soccer teams.
