Bio

Coach Miles Pinsent brings years of experience and winning to the STU program. He is a National B Licensed coach who has had tremendous success at the university, provincial, senior, and youth levels on regional, national, and international stages.

Prior to joining STU, Coach Pinsent had a successful university coaching career within the USports league. He led his team to eight Conference Championship games, four Conference Championship titles, and was named Conference Coach of the Year on four occasions. Pinsent also had success at the national level, as his team qualified for seven USports National Championship Tournaments winning silver and bronze medals, and he was voted Canadian University Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year in 2012. During his Usports career, over one hundred of his student-athletes were named Academic All-Canadians, and on 15 occasions, his players were named to All-Canadian teams. In 2017, Pinsent was selected as the Head Coach for the USports Canadian men’s team that competed at the FISU Games held in Taipei. Team Canada ended this prestigious international competition with a record of 3 wins (Malasia, USA, South Africa) and 3 losses (Uruguay, Japan, Brazil).

In addition to his university coaching experience, Miles has also coached numerous provincial teams at Atlantic and National CSA Championships. He also served as Head Coach for Team NB at the Canada Summer Games.
