STU falls short on the fifth set against USTA

Fredericton, NB- STU Tommies fell short 3-2 on the fifth set against USTA. The match started with a strong start for STU in the first set, winning 25-20. 

USTA came back and tied the game 1-1 after winning the second set 25-19. The third set was very intense, with both teams delivering great performances. The set was tied 19-19, but minutes later, STU Tommies secured the third set and regained the advantage. 

"We had a good game overall, Austin Hamilton did great, Jacob Tratch had a very good weekend, definitely a tough loss, second time we lost against them, USTA is a very good team, they served well, played well," Raphael Fiset said

The game at LB Gym went to a fourth set where USTA did not back down and took the win in a very close set 25-23, tying the match once again and sending it to a fifth set. 

Dragons maintained their composure and sealed the win in the fifth set with a score of 15-8.

"We have to reset now; we have a few weeks until next semester," Fiset said after the game

Jeremy Bourque and Louis-Phillipe LeBlanc led the victory for the Dragons with 18 kills each, while for STU Tommies, Jacob Tratch had 11 and Austin Hamilton 10 kills. 

The next game for the teams will be after the break, Saturday January 13th, USTA will take Holland College at 6 pm while the same day, at 7 pm, STU Tommies will play UNBSJ.
