Tommies Down Blue Devils 72-59

The St. Thomas University Tommies downed the University of King's College Blue Devils 72-59 in ACAA women's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym. 

The Blue Devils took an early lead, but the Tommies bounced back and closed the gap to 31-30 by half time. 

The Tommies took their first lead of the game in the third and followed that up with a big fourth quarter--they outscored the Blue Devils 26-13 in the frame--to secure their third win of the season. 

Sara Banks and Carissa McTague sparked the Tommies with 13 points each. Jessica Patenaude chipped in with 12 and Becca MacNeil added 11. 

The Blue Devils were led by Christina Brown, who connected for 11 points. Madison Bennett and Candace Reynolds each added 10 points in the loss. 

With the win, the Tommies improve to 3-2 on the season while the Blue Devils drop to 1-6.
