Tommies Top Chargers 76-46

The St. Thomas Tommies ran their way to a 76-46 win over the Crandall University Chargers in ACAA women's basketball action Friday night at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

It was a low-energy first half, but the Tommies managed to outscore the Chargers 33-23 after 20 minutes of play.

The Tommies found their rhythm in the third quarter and erupted for 29 points in the frame thanks to some strong shooting and putbacks in the paint.

The Chargers battled in the fourth, but weren't able to overcome the Tommies lead.

Jayme Hunt paced the Tommies with 17 points, three steals, and two assists. Sara Banks added 15 points, and Christina Richardson chipped in with eight.

The Chargers were led by Sydnee Balser who netted 10 points, while Maddyson MacDonald and Mackenzie McHattan each added eight.
