Tommies Snap Losing Skid with Win Over Chargers

The St. Thomas University Tommies bested the Crandall University Chargers 79-87 in ACAA women's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

It was back and forth throughout the game, with the biggest difference maker coming from the Tommies' depth--the non-starters for the Green and Gold contributed 32 points compared to the Chargers' bench that only managed to chip in with four.

The Tommies held a slim five-point lead at halftime, which they doubled heading into the fourth quarter.

The Chargers outscored the Tommies in the final frame, but weren't able to close the gap.

Maddyson MacDonald led all scorers with 35 points, while teammate Madison McHatten added 25 points at seven rebounds.

The Tommies were sparked by Lainy Dow, who had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jayme Hunt added 14 points and six assists in the win.
