Tommies Complete Perfect Home Record on Senior's Day

Fredericton, NB- The St. Thomas University Tommies defeated the Mount Allison University Mounties 69-49 at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon in their annual senior's day game.

Graduating players Bridget Frazee (Sussex, NB) and Christina Richardson (Ottawa, ON) combined to score 22 points, grab 11 rebounds, dish out 5 assists and swipe 4 steals in the victory.

"It's always a tough game to play in," said Tommies head coach, Fred Connors about the senior's day. "Emotions are running high. I felt the firls responded very well all things considered."

Leading the way for the Mounties was Karly Buckingham, who would finish the game with 14 points.

The Tommies made a statement coming out in the first quarter, outscoring the Mounties 24-8, and they would never look back.

"We played a great first half. I think the girls started thinking about the end result and our seniors and they lost focus on the way we wanted to play," said Connors in reference to his team's third quarter, which saw them score 10 points.

The Mounties will head into ACAA Championships as the #5 seed and they will face the UKC Blue Devils. The Tommies will enter the Championships as the #1 seed, and will wait until day two to see who they face. l
