Roi Marks Third Tommie Recruit For Upcoming Season

Name: Kylee Roi

Hometown: Saint John, New Brunswick

Position: Guard

Height: 5’7”

Prospective Program: French and Education

The Tommies women’s basketball program continues to add to their recruiting class with the addition of Kylee Roi.

Roi, a St. Malachy’s High School graduate, spent last year at UPEI and is looking forward to her transfer to St. Thomas.

“I chose STU because I feel like I will fit in well with the smaller university and I think it will lead me in the direction of big opportunities,” said Roi. “I’ve heard so many great things about the school and have a sister who graduated from there.”

Roi will bring length and physicality to the Tommies backcourt in the new season.

“We are very excited that Kylee is joining our squad,” said Tommies’ head coach, Fred Connors. “She is a very hard worker, defends with a lot of determination, and is a willing passer. She’s known for being a great teammate and we are looking forward to bringing in someone that will play scrappy basketball.”

Roi never got a chance to visit campus and meet the team but has heard nothing but great things. She also has a touch of familiarity with a few players having played against them in high school.

I am excited to get started with the season and begin playing at a high level of ball. I can't wait to play with such an awesome group of talented girls and to be coached by Fred, I've heard awesome things and believe he is going to push me to be my best self. I cant wait to get started.”
