Tommies Bolster Lineup with Bartley

The Tommies' continue to stack their roster for the 2023-24 season, adding their fourth recruitment. Briana Bartley of Woodstock, NB, has committed to the St. Thomas University. Bartley, a 5'8" wing, said STU had been on her radar for some time now because of their reputation.

"I’m really looking forward to not only furthering my education, in a program I’ve had my eye on for a while, but also being able to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level," Bartley said.

Bartley, who plans on taking crimonology, said the small class room sizes will help her get to know her professors and benefit her academically.

Tommies' head coach Fred Connors said Bartley's athletic ability and confidence stood out to him whe watching her play.

"Brianna impressed with her athletic ability," Connors said. Bartley, a multi-sport athlete, is also in soccer, volleyball and track and field. "She handles the ball well and attacked the rim with confidence. She has shown the ability to guard multiple positions and is a very team first attitude player. Brianna comes with an excellent reputation as a hard worker and highly coachable player. We are very excited to see how her game grows with us at STU."

Bartley, who spoke with Connors over the phone, said by the end of their call she knew "STU would be the perfect fit."

"He was able to answer all my questions academically, and about the basketball program," she said. "He cares a lot about his players and their success which was really important for me. I’m very excited to be apart of such a great program and I think I will fit in well with the style of play."
