Miramichi's Lily Sisk lands with Tommies Women's Basketball

  New Recruit Alert

Provincial Champion Lily Sisk has committed to the St. Thomas Women's Basketball program, lacing up starting in the 2023-2024 season.

The Miramichi area native will join a Tommies squad looking to return to the top of the ACAA and she will be championsghip experience after her high school Pulamoo team captured the NBIAA Provincial banner at the Final 12 in Saint John back in February.

A multi-sport athlete who also excelled in soccer, she chose St. Thomas University "for the top-notch Criminology program and the small campus feel."

On the court, the NBIAA Basketball All-Star from 2022 is looking forward to the next step. "STU has a well established basketball progam, where I can continue to improve my game," Sisk added.  "I know coach Connors will push me to my full potential as a player."

Coach Connors is looking forward to having Lily join the program in September.  "Lily was an important piece of her team's AAA provincial championship this year. She comes from a top notch program run by Jim Watters, who highly recommended her."

The Tommies are always looking for all-around athletes.  "She has improved her 3-point shooting this past season, but what caught our eye was how hard she defends and is willing to rebound and move the ball," the 21-year bench boss veteran touts.  "She is a very unselfish player that will do what's best for her teammates."

"We think she is going to add to our team toughness and culture as we build around a young core next season," caps off Connors.

Sisk will graduate this June and will turn her attention to donning the Green & Gold and moving to Fredericton.  "I am excited to meet the team and get to work on the court and academically."

Lily follows the announcement of Ella Hoyt, Ella Delorme, Paige Leblanc and Brianna Bartley for the 2023-24 recruiting season.

The 2023-24 ACAA Basketball schedule will be announced in May and Season Passes will be on sale in August, along with Training Camp starting in September.
