Fredericton, NB - Coach Fred Connors is proud to announce the addition of the first recruit, McKenzie Giesbrecht, to the women's basketball program for the upcoming 2024–25 ACAA season.

McKenzie Giesbrecht, a dynamic forward hailing from Medicine Hat, Alberta, brings a wealth of experience from her time with the Hat High Hawks and Rangers Basketball. Coach Connors expressed enthusiasm about this significant addition to the Tommies program, stating, "We are very excited to welcome McKenzie to the Tommies. Her coaches have spoken highly of her work ethic and coachability. Witnessing a remarkable progression in her skill set from grade 11 to grade 12, I believe she is hitting her stride as a player. McKenzie's presence will provide size and toughness on both ends of the floor, showcasing her as a genuine competitor. With the ability to guard multiple positions and demonstrate versatility on the offensive end, we anticipate McKenzie's valuable development as both a person and a player."

McKenzie Giesbrecht shared her commitment to contributing essential qualities to the Tommies program, stating, "Some qualities I will contribute to the Tommies program are my strong work ethic, strength, and physicality, as well as my dedication."
