The St. Thomas University Tommies edged the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Ridgebacks in CIS women's hockey exhibition action Friday night at the Grant-Harvey Centre. 

The Tommies opened the scoring 12:23 into the first as rookie Rahel Michielin capitalized on the power play. The lead didn't last long though--Kassidy Nauboris beat Tommies netminder Taylor Cook with eight seconds left in the frame to tie the game, 1-1. 

The next two periods were scoreless, forcing the extra frame. Both teams had power play chances in overtime, but it was the Tommies who took advantage with Kelty Apperon netting the game-winner at 6:48.
