Woods Named AUS All-Star for 3rd Straight Year

This past week the Atlantic University Sport named their annual league All-Stars and award winners.

Fourth year defender Alex Woods (Courtice, ON) was named to the 2nd Team AUS All-Star team for her efforts on the year. She led all AUS defenders with 7 goals on the year, finishing 4th in scoring by defenders with 14 points.

"Alex was very deserving as an All-Star this year," said Tommies head coach Peter Murphy. "Numbers wise she was where we would expect if we were struggling to score. She is still a dominant player in almost every game she plays."

Rookies Aislynn Byers (Melancthon, ON) and Erin Arsenault (Oakville, ON) were named to the All-Rookie Team.

Byers had 1 goal and 5 assists to put her 3rd amongst AUS rookie defenders in scoring.

"Aislynn showed some great moments throughout her rookie year. She will be an offensive D for us in the longterm and when she plays physical she is a tough D to play against."

Arsenault immediately stepped into a big role with the Tommies, getting time on the power play, penalty kill and she didn’t disappoint, scoring 3 goals and adding 7 assists in her first season in the Green and Gold.

"As for the Erin she came along and settled in with a couple of different lines and showed her ability to help generate offense."
