The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team has landed their first recruit for the 2021-22 AUS season, with the commitment of Olivia Stock of Waterdown, Ontario.

The right defence player who played for the Etobicoke Dolphins of the Provincial Women's Hockey League chooses STU because "there is a lot of emphasis on creating a family bond within the team and that drew me in, making my decision very easy."  Heading east for small class sizes is another bonus for Olivia: "I am also excited about the academic environment and am looking forward to the next 4 years".

"Olivia uses her size well and possesses a great ability to get a puck down from the point," Tommies Coach Peter Murphy mentions about the all-around player. "Her gap control and ability to anticipate the play makes her very hard to play against."

Believing in the student-athlete ideal, Olivia will have an impact in the community.  "Even more impressive than her on ice skill, she is a strong student and shows great character," Coach Murphy points out.  "She will be an asset to our hockey program."

Although Covid-19 ultimately ended a run at an AUS Championship banner for this season, the program will focus on the potential opportunity for regional exhibition play in the Winter semester in preparation for the 2021-22 season.
