The Tommies have added their second recruit to the class of 2023 - landing one of the top goalies in the Alberta U18 Female Hockey League. Chloe Marshall of the Calgary Fire U18 has committed to the green and gold for the 2023-24 season.
Marshall, who leads the AFHL U18 in multiple stat categories, said she chose STU because she feels she'll be supported on and off the ice.

"I chose St. Thomas because I feel I will be well supported academically while being pushed athletically," Marshall said. "Meeting the coaches and players made the decision really easy as I had a great experience with them and felt very welcome. The Tommies program is somewhere I see myself thriving for the next couple of years and I can’t wait for the adventure."

Standing at 5'10", Marshall currently owns a 0.941 save percentage, 1.16 goals against average, both tops in the league. Marshall has yet to lose a game this season, currently standing at a perfect 11-0-0 record. Three of those wins have been shutout performances.
Tommies' head coach Peter Murphy was impressed with Marshall's compete level, saying she gives her team a chance to win each night.
“We are very pleased to have Chloe commit to the Tommies for next season.  She has shown herself to be a top goalie at her current level, giving her team a chance to win night after night," Marshall said. "She shows confidence in net and that is passed along to the team in front of her. Her compete level is what really stands out and we have no doubt she will continue to develop in her time at St. Thomas and continue our line of top goaltending."
