Fredericton, NB - Dalhousie Tigers triumph 3-2 as Olivia Eustace nets two at Grant Harvey Centre against the Tommies.
"A bit of a rough start for sure, but I'm sure we will get going as it's just the beginning of the semester," said Nadia Lavoie.
The Tommies got on the board first with a power play goal by Nadia Lavoie at 4:22.
In the second period, Dalhousie responded at 12:52, with Brooklyn Paisley finding the net in a PP, assisted by Olivia Eustace and Gabrielle Noordijk, tying the game 1-1.
The third period started with a quick strike from the Tigers as forward Olivia Eustace scored unassisted just 20 seconds in, taking the lead 2-1. STU answered back on a PP, with Lavoie netting her second of the night, leveling the score at 2-2.
However, Dalhousie remained persistent, and at 14:32, Eustace scored her second goal, securing the 3-2 win for the Tigers.
Three stars were awarded to Olivia Eustace (Dalhousie) and Nadia Lavoie (STU).
"Next game, we have to go hard, we have a strong team, we need the win, I know we can do it" Lavoie commented after the game.
Dalhousie Tigers will play again tomorrow as they face UPEI at 3 p.m., while the Tommies will visit UNB on Friday, January 12.
