Tommies Win in Overtime Over STFX University

In a thrilling face-off that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the St. Thomas Tommies were able to come back from a 3-1 and win in overtime over STFX. 

STFX University came out strong, taking an early lead in the first period; Ashlyn Garnett scored the first goal(18:10 1st), assisted by Joanna Martinsen and Anna MacCara. The Tommies refused to back down, leveling the score with a goal scored by Ekaterina Pelowich(10:441st) and an assist by Jacey Dane

The game intensified in the 2nd period as STFX widened their lead, netting two more goals scored by ​​Maggy Burbidge(11:30 2nd) and Ireland McCloskey(14:34). Despite the mounting pressure, STU Tommies did not back up and displayed remarkable composure. Ekaterina Pelowich(17:10 2nd) added another for STU to shorten the lead, assisted by Nadia Lavoie and Laura Brown.

As the clock ticked in the 3rd period, STU Tommies were able to tie the game again, with a goal scored by Lauren Smith, assisted by Jacey Dane and Amber Daley. With the scores level, the teams headed into overtime, where the atmosphere was electric with anticipation.

Laura Brown scored the winning goal(OT - 00:54) for STU Tommies, assisted by Amy Dvernichuk.

The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both sides displaying exceptional skill and tenacity. Elizabeth Campbell(STU), Laura Brown(STU), and Ireland McCloskey(STFX) had an outstanding performance.

STFX will be playing their next game on October 27 against UNB, while STU Tommies will play against the University of Moncton on October 28.
