Tristyn Endicott Commits to STU Tommies for 2024-25 Season

Peter Murphy adds his first recruit for the 2024–25 season. Tristyn Endicott, a defence from Kerrobert, SK, will join the women's hockey team next year.

Endicott will join the Tommies after having played for the Mann-Northway Northern Bears of the Saskatchewan Female U18 League.

For Endicott, the decision to enroll at St. Thomas University was based on the university's strong hockey program and alignment with her desired academic major. The preference for smaller educational institutions, coupled with the realization that St. Thomas University fosters a close-knit community, significantly piqued Endicott's interest.

"I chose St. Thomas University because when I toured there, it felt good and was well put together. I’m used to smaller schools, so when I heard and saw that it was a small school and a more connected community, I was very interested. It has a very good hockey program as well as the major I'm wanting to take to pursue my education."

STU liberal arts education will allow Endicott to further explore her academic interests in criminology, sociology, forensics, and psychology.  Small class sizes were another reason for her decision.

“Everyone seems to have good connections with their professors, which I like. The coach was very welcoming, and the things he does and is willing to do for the team are great".

As for Murphy he sees lots of positives in Endicott’s game.

“Tristyn has shown herself to be an offensive-minded defence who can get a puck down to the net.  On the defensive side of the puck she has the ability to play physical and help shutdown opponents on the wall.  These traits are definitely the things that drew us to her and we are very pleased to have her joining the Tommies next season."

When asked what she would bring to the team next season, she was clear about her intentions.

"I will bring dedication and determination, along with a good attitude and drive, to the team," Endicott said.
