Fredericton, NB - STU Tommies put up a determined fight against the Université de Moncton but fell short with a final score of 3-1. Moncton came out strong in the first period, with Shani Rossignol opening the scoring. The period was a back-and-forth affair, but Moncton held a shot advantage, outshooting STU 10-5.
In the second period, the Tommies pushed back with renewed energy, creating intense action on both ends. Their persistence paid off when Ella Chambers found the back of the net, tying the game and igniting the Tommies' momentum.
Despite STU's efforts, Moncton took control in the third period, with Lianne Desforges scoring, followed by a second goal from Rossignol to secure UdeM's victory.
The Tommies will regroup and prepare to face UNB tomorrow, while Moncton will head to a matchup against UPEI.
